Who operates this portal
Sportsnet operates this volunteering pilot. For access, correction, deletion or privacy questions, contact inquiry@sportsnetedu.com from your registered email. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
Information we collect
We store account and contact details, your city, district and state, self-reported languages, sports interests, education, skills, experience, availability, travel range, competition preferences, expense needs and advance notice, course verification references, event applications, attendance, reviews, preferences and support enquiries. Passwords are protected using WordPress password hashing. Essential session cookies keep you signed in. Security controls use short-lived hashed request identifiers and action logs.
Who can see it
Approved event information and organisation names are public. Verified signed-in members can see an event organiser’s contact details. When you record interest, you consent to sharing your volunteer profile, email and phone with that event’s organiser. There is no public volunteer contact directory. Sportsnet administrators can review records to operate the portal and moderate disputes.
How we use it
We use your details for matching, participation, account security, course verification and moderation. Optional email alerts follow your profile preference. We do not sell volunteer contact lists or use portal profile data for AI model training. Hosting and email services process data needed to run the site.
Your controls
Edit your profile and email preference from your dashboard. Download your account records there. Contact support to request account deletion or a correction to attendance. Records needed for an active dispute or security investigation may be retained while that issue is resolved. Organisers must use shared information only for the relevant volunteering activity.
Reviews and course references
Reviews are moderated before contributing to a profile rating. You can dispute a review from your dashboard; it is hidden during review. Course completion is verified by Sportsnet, not awarded by a self-declaration.
Pilot access
This pilot accepts adults aged 18 or above. Public pages may appear in search after launch. Account pages and private dashboards are excluded. Anyone with the portal address can access public pages. No optional analytics or advertising cookies are used in the portal interface.
